Two more wonderful days in New Zealand. NY's Day was spent on a trip to Mt Ruapeho with a picnic by the lake, kite flying and a chair lift to the top of the highest mountain in NZ. Today we have been on a jet boat trip down the River Wanganui to the Bridge to Nowhere! What a ride down the gorge! See you on Tuesday - Happy New Year! Mr H :)
| Mr Hales | 31 December 2009 04:06:13 |
A great New Years Eve in Katieke! This morning we went around the farm - 7000 sheep and 400 cattle! The sheep were being mustered into pens by Trevor and Roger, the farmers, and their 7 dogs! Then they were being sorted into lambs and sheep that had been already sheared! This afternoon we went to look around Katieke School - a school with lots of rooms but only 6 children at the start of the new year. I have left the cards that our Year Two children made with Debbie, the Principal/Class Teacher. The afternoon has been spent at the Junction where two rivers join. The boys went fishing but caught no trout! This evening, we are going to a neighbours' house for a New Years' Eve Bar-B-Q. Happy New Year from Mr H :)
| Mr Hales | 30 December 2009 05:56:09 |
I'm now in New Zealand! I'm staying at Kaitieke which is in the middle of nowhere. Debbie has two great sons, Josh and Aaron. We have been to Lake Taupo and visited the thermal volcanic springs, a prawn farm and the Huka Falls. Hope you having a great christmas break! Mr H :)
| jack b & clem c | 27 December 2009 21:10:35 |

Well, it's Monday morning and I am travelling to New Zealand today. I leave Newcastle by car for Sydney and then fly to Auckland in New Zealand, where I stop for 1 night. I then fly to Hamilton on Tuesday to meet up with Debbie, who is the principal of Kaitieke School. The children in Class 2 have been writing to them! Happy New Year! From Mr H :~)
| Laura Mott | 27 December 2009 15:50:41 |

Happy Christmas Day! Bacon and egg sandwiches at the beach, presents opened, family lunch (cold buffet), started to rain, swimming in the pool, afternoon tea and back to the flat! What was it like for you? Mr H :)
| Mr Hales | 24 December 2009 10:49:40 |
It's the evening of Christmas Eve here, but it does feel like an English Christmas. Some houses have Christmas lights and the shops have been very busy. My brother-in-law, Alex, and I have visited the Hunter Valley, where some of Australia's best wine is brewed. There are 140 wineries and we visited just 4! We tasted some white and red wines and bought a few bottles for Christmas. Marcy and Lois, my nieces, were really excited this evening and have been painting themselves with mud. They had to be washed down with the hose before having a bath! It has been really hot today - over 30 degrees! Anyway Happy Christmas to everyone! :)
| Mr Hales | 23 December 2009 02:50:38 |
Now it is Wednesday afternoon. I have spent the morning at the beach. You can find the beach photos on Google Images. Go to "Nobby's Beach + Newcastle + Australia". I saw so many different ways of travel - kayak, speedboats, coal tanker, helicopter, inter-city train, local train, ferryboat, cycles, cars, lorries, planes, seaplane and ...... roller skates and skateboards!!! Hope the snow is still keeping you all happy! Thanks for the messages - Chelsea and Travis! Mr H :)
| CHELSEA | 22 December 2009 14:24:02 |

Whats up Mr H , this is Travis , boy you don't know how much snow we have had in Great Snoring , we have had loads of snow. Paddling in the water - you're so lucky that you are in such a hot country like Australia !!!! But I am having fun in the snow..Anyway just here to say have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from Travis.
| Mr Hales | 21 December 2009 22:17:59 |
Well, here I am on Tuesday morning. I have been down to the beach this morning, had a paddle and had a bacon sandwich - all by 0800! It has been great to see Jeannie, Alex, Marcy and Lois. Marcy is 4 now and full of fun! Lois is 1 and a half and just copies everything! We have been to Sugarloaf Mountain and Catherine's Hill Bay! Sorry to hear about all your snow, but I expect some of you really love it! Best wishes from Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia :)

Greetings from North Carolina. I attended the primary school in 1962 (my dad was in the USAF). We lived in half of the Old Rectory for awhile (now a B&B?), and later moved to quarters on base. I also attended Syderstone. I have many pleasant memories of my two or so years around Burnham Market.

Hi Mr Hales, having a nice holiday cause me and grace are. We went banger racing on monday and got really muddy, but lucky for us we had my dads tracktor to sit in while the races were going on. Hello Mr.Hales!
| Tony Hall | 14 July 2007 00:00:00 |
I have just found your site and I have to admit it's a far cry from the days I spent at your school.I left in 1960 at 15 years of age, in those days the 'top class as it was called wasn't in your school due to there being no room, after morning assembly we would walk down into Burnham for our lessons, is the building even there today? it was on back street, I believe it became a lampshade factory later on. Each lunchtime we had to walk back to the big school for lunch, which was a bit of a pain in the winter. This of course was in the days before you went onto Wells at eleven years of age. I would be pleased to hear from anyone who remembers me, perhaps I could swop some stories of the old times at your school with the grandparents of some of today's pupils . I now live on the Isle of Wight and have for the past 39 years. Good to hear from you, Tony! I'll ask around and hopefully someone will have a recollection! Best wishes, Steven
| Sarah (Nut) | 12 July 2007 00:00:00 |
Yo Mr H. How are you doin'? Can't wait for the African Drumming concert. It'll be fab!
| joe glass | 11 July 2007 00:00:00 |
Hi Mr Hales - you mentioned we might need our panto costumes for the Burnham Market show on Saturday. Is there a parade we have to join or is there a fancy dress section that we could enter into?
| Mrs Hooke | 11 July 2007 00:00:00 |
Well done to Hardy for winning the sports today! Hoste and Nelson were very unlucky! Everyone tried really hard and did their very best in all the races. It was lovely to see so many parents..... and weren't they fantastic in the mums and dads race?
| Keni | 06 July 2007 00:00:00 |

| Mr Speck (Wells-next-the-Sea Primary and Nursery School) | 04 July 2007 00:00:00 |
It's lovely to see all the things going on at your school, even though we're only a few miles apart.
| Caitlin | 23 June 2007 00:00:00 |
Hi Mr H - me and emily are going to call our horse "Rising Star" Is that a clue how the horse will be decorated? (Mr H)
| Caitlin | 22 June 2007 00:00:00 |
Hi Mr H. Me and emily are going to enter the pantomime horse of the year show together but we have come to a dilema that emily is a year three and i am a year 5. Which year group should we enter in? We thought it would make better sense to enter the year 4 and above because it would seem a bit silly if i entered the year three and below categories but we are not sure ????? By the way how is your wife hope she is feeling a lot better. But tell Mrs H whatever happens you should always be positive and keep a smile on your face. Yes, you and Emily should race in Year 4 and above class. What will you name your horse? Mrs H is doing well. We are going to see about a new car for her today! Have a good day! Mr H

Hi .Mr. H | |
| Sra. Hales | 06 June 2007 00:00:00 |
I wonder who has been writing in Spanish. Hopefully I can use my translator to find out what is being said! :~*
| Emily Froud | 04 June 2007 00:00:00 |

| Ann Scott | 22 May 2007 00:00:00 |
Hi Mr Steve. Thank-you for the offer of parking in the School field, but it is nice that whenever we come to Burnham we can always stay with June and Al. We would have loved to have come to the School Fete but we will already be in the New Forest on holiday. I am sure there will be another time when we can visit you. Hope you have a good Fete, and the weather is kind to you. I heard the other day that a Headteacher was on a course/meeting and he got up to get his dessert and someone took his seat, anyway the Headteacher in question decided to sit on a glass topped coffee table and guess what? The glass broke!!! I do hope that Headteacher didn't get any glass in an awkward place!! Hopefully he instructed his pupils never to do anything so silly, and I bet he won't do that again!!!!!!!!!!. Have been reading other messages, we do hope Mrs H is doing well, enjoy the Bank Holiday break.
| kryssy | 14 May 2007 00:00:00 |

Hi .Mr.H | |
| Ann Scott | 08 May 2007 00:00:00 |
Hi Mr Steve. Sorry it's taken me so long to get in touch, but I had a problem getting onto the website with the address I had got (Guess who gave me it?) Anyway, yes, June has told me the story of the caravan. We all went away this bank holiday in our caravans and had a lovely time, apart from the dreadful rain whilst we were taking down our awnings - mind you the place we went to was PIDLEY near St.Ives Cambs, and yes it was a small place too!!!!!! It also had a Mountain Rescue Team, but none of us could see any mountains!!! Anyway, must go now and get on with some work. Ask June about the time we all went on the Norfolk broads on a dayboat and she had an accident!!!!!!!!!. Good luck with all the fund-raising, perhaps we will be able to come to Burnham one week-end when you have an event. From Ann, Tony and Jason.

Hello and hi-de-hi from Chennai in India. Today we went to the 2 Boys Towns (orphanages) and gave out the special gift packs to each of the 140 boys living there - what a special treat! They were all so excited to be given a present of their own.... Each pack was in a small plastic wallet and contained a school shirt, pencils, pens, crayons, notebook, soap, a tennis ball, a small car, a rubber, pencil sharpener and your very own TOOTHBRUSHES and TOOTHPASTE. There was so much excitement and we all felt very special to be able to bring such joy and blessing into the boy's lives. I have taken lots of photo's and will get them to Mr Hales when I get home - THANK YOU once again for your generosity and support, it really has made a difference in someone else's life and if you ask me that rocks!

Bye for now Mr Hales! Yes, we are all carpeted. We must be careful with the mud, but it is so quiet! HAGD! [Mr H]

Dear Mr Hales, we really like the new school website. We have got a quiz question for other children reading this message (it's Dad's question really). The question is, what is the capital of London? Anyway, what we really want to say is that we have got a 17 inch monitor for a computer which we don't need any more. It's the fat sort of monitor not the thin sort. If anybody would like it,please tell one of us at School. It's free for a good home! By the way, the capital of London is 'L' of course. :) S & R Watch the top of the webpage - your question scrolls across! Monitor is great offer - hope someone needs one! (Mr H)
