Classes 1 and 2 celebrate Chinese New Year

It is Chinese New Year and 2010 is the Year of the Tiger. Classes 1 and 2 celebrated in style with Chinese Dragons, fortune cookies and a re-creation of Leicester Square, London!

The Chinese Dragons were fantastic, with lots of children underneath. But who was the head and the tail?

Gardening Club plant up the flower bed

at the new school entrance

Gardening Club children planted up the flower bed in front of the new entrance to school. They were helped by Geoff, from Norfolk County Services, and parents, Di Black and Mairi Wayland.

They were able to use the trowels and dibbers for the bulbs and Geoff raked over all the footprints. Norfolk County Services donated the evergreen plants.

! GREAT NEWS ABOUT OUR eTWINNING PROJECT!

Burnham Market Primary School and our Swedish partner school, Slottsbrun Skola, have been awarded a European Quality Label for their 'Erk the Viking' project. This means that the project has been judged as one of the best across all European eTwinning schools! Maybe we might even win the 1st prize when the European Awards are announced in January 2010.

SOMETHING WICKED COMES THIS WAY ...

(Reporters: Ebony and Alice)

On the 24th November the theatre company of Shakespeare4Kidz gave an amazing performance of Macbeth at the Kings Lynn Corn Exchange at 10.30am. They performed to an audience of thrilled school children.

One of the groups of children was from Burnham Market Primary School and they had a great time. Here are some comments. This is from a girl called Leeanne. She thought, ‘ it was really funny and `exciting and would give it a 10/10.’ Ebony, one of the  reporters,  thought that Macbeth was very good and worth going to see.  Also, she thought that it was very funny and entertaining. Some of the children that went to see Macbeth thought that it was very good and gave it a 9/10. A boy called Jack thought it had good action and liked the music and the dancing. He would give it a 9/10.

The actors in Macbeth were Jason Lee Scott as Macbeth, Emma Odell as Lady Macbeth, Benjamin Goodridge  as Banquo and Kirk Barker as Macduff. Noel Andrew Harron as the drunken, funny Porter, who tells the knock knock jokes, was very funny and made the children laugh.

Macbeth and his wife were crowned King and Queen ... but not for long!
